Hymn of Zeus

By Maxon Owens

Amongst a glint’d sky too feral
At fore a water-line unparalleled
Sunken below - entrenched in the divine
O scent of Dionysus clementine
Assailed in fellowship of sense I use
Touch, taste, enriched by aroma of roots

Apollo’s virility culled from potent seeds
Which bounded our limbs from a common weed
That forged Apollos golden bow - shot far into the sun
Adamantine, crystallized, beautiful at once.
Whence archaic clouds of Zeus o’er cliffs?
Came the ancient puffs of Neptunic Nymphs

For the sake of Priapus and his prim ley
Zeus fashioned a sky for us all to play
Amid hymns of Titans and creatures
And whispers of a lumber-filled ether
Covered in mysterious little dyes
That for all, Zeus! Which we rise
